2010 Summer Mini is here!

Is this not a gorgeous card?????? This card is done using new stamps and double sided papers from the new Summer Mini catalogue which starts tomorrow - Dec 1st. All the lovely goodies in it will be available until March 31st.

I love the Kaleidoscope papers that you can see here and I adore the Butterfly Prints stamp set! You can do so many lovely things with these butterflies! And to make the set even more versatile there is a matching Butterfly punch!!!! So here I have stamped the butterfly image and cut it out then punched a butterfly image from Pixie Pink card to place behind the cut out image. The cutout was glued only at the middle so as the wings can be bent up to give a 3D look to the card. The body is a thin strip of Summer Sun card wrapped around the butterfly and glued underneath. The saying included in the set is also very sweet.

Coloured card used here were Pixie Pink, Summer Sun, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White. The ink is Pixie Pink. The extra stamping on the pink band is done with Boho Backgrounds from the main catalogue.

I loved this design and the paper so much I made a number of them using a variety of the papers as backgrounds. I'm sure you will love this set and papers as much as I do!

To see them visit my webpage tomorrow to view the Summer Mini Catalogue.

Check out the Circle Scissors on the back inside page - such a terrific tool for cutting perfect circles!

Last Farewell to Spring Mini Catalogue

The 2009 Spring Mini Catalogue finishes today - so here is one last look at a project I did in Technique class this week. I stamped this candle using Tree Trimmings from the mini catalogue. This was a really popular set from the mini catalogue.
I love this technique since Simone Bartrum my very talented downline demonstrated this technique at the recent Stampin'Up! Melbourne Regionals. I have a link at the side to her website - do visit, you will be impressed!
Anyway this was so easy to do! I stamped the hanger in Choc Chip and the bauble in Ruby Red onto white tissue paper. Then held it in place with baking paper while I gently heated the image on the candle with my heat tool. Once you see the wax melt and your image "change", stop heating, allow to cool slightly and then remove the wax paper. It really is one of those WOW moments!!!
Hope you like it! Be back soon with some sneak peeks of the new Summer Mini Catalogue that starts tomorrow!

Easy Christmas Card

If you are starting to run out of time to get your Christmas cards done and want a quick easy idea - here is a great one.

The stamp set is Holiday Lineup. The images were stamped in Perfect Plum, Old Olive, Rose Red and More Mustard. They were punched out using the 1 1/4 inch square punch and mounted on Basic black card strip which has had the edges punched using the spiral punch. The background is from Snow Swirled and the message is from Many Merry Messages.

You could add a bit of glitter or Crystal Effects to Rudolph's nose if you like.

Another Brayer Background Card

I know I should be putting up Christmas cards but I was really pleased with this effort at doing brayered backgrounds. The card itself is not great - just couldn't come up with a way of mounting it that I was totally happy with. Any suggestions?????

The stamp set used was Bird On a Branch. Colours are Night of Navy, Basic Grey and Pretty in Pink.

Must try it again and try and do the image better justice in the way I mount it up.

Thanks for looking!

Christmas gift tags

My how a week goes by so quickly!

I've been busy doing workshops and haven't done many new projects lately - so I thought I would show you what we are doing in my Stampin'Up! workshops this month.

I love these Christmas gift tags made using the set Winter Post. I got the idea from a tag I saw on Stampin'Addicts and I have used similar colours but a different stamp set. I've deleted the email and so I am sorry I can't give credit to the lovely person who created the layout/colour way. Thankyou for your idea.

Colours are Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Close to Cocoa for card and Real Red and Close to Cocoa for ink. Extras are Designer label punch, double slot punch and Whisper White grosgrain ribbon.

I didn't have a To/From stamp believe it or not so bought this set to get one and then loved how the images stamped up to create these tags. My customers have loved making them too!

Choo Choo Card

Here is a card I did awhile ago when my computer was playing up. I just found the picture for it so I'm putting it up as a reminder that the Spring Mini Catalogue finishes at the end of this month. So if you are after this cute set - Choo Choo and the matching wheel you will need to get your order to me!

To create the card I stamped Choo Choo using markers to ink the stamps, onto Stampin'Up! paper vellum. The greeting is also from the mini catalogue and is one of the new single stamps Stampin'Up! are producing. The vellum was overlayed onto WhisperWhite card on which I had wheeled the Right on Track wheel and the Funky Forest wheel. I sponged some Bashful Blue ink on for the sky. It is all finished off with Chocloate Chip taffeta ribbon.

Paper Piecing Card

Hi There!
Here is a card we did on the weekend at my classes when we did Paper Piecing. I've often looked at this stamp and wondered how I'd colour it in to my satisfaction - but with this technique it makes coming up with a finished product you are pleased with soooo easy!
The stamp set is Voila from Stampin'Up! To create a card using this technique stamp the image onto card and use this as your template to stick your cutout stamped pieces onto. Stamp your image on patterned paper of your choice - I used Walk in the Park Designer series paper here -(It's from the current Spring Mini catalogue which only has another month to run). Cut out and glue to your stamped image. The chef's pants were colured using Going Grey ink and the blender pen. The same ink was used to stamp the sentiment and I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement. The edges were sponged using Baja Breeze ink. Vintage black brads added the final touch before mounting onto Baja Breeze card and a trim of scalloped edge black card was added top and bottom. The Basic Grey folded card was stamped with the background stamp Sanded.
A great card for the men in your life - and aren't masculine cards so difficult to create sometimes!
Remember if there are any of the products used here that you would like to purchase you can do so by placing an order through me as a current Stampin'Up! demonstrator. Please email or give me a call. My details are in my profile on this page.
Have a great day!
