Thanks for coming back to see my presentation samples. My next item was to show how the catalogue is a great resource for layout ideas. I loved the card sketch on page 18 of the new catalogue (due Sept 1st but if you are a demonstrator you already have yours!!!!) of the Christmas Deer, so using stamps available to me that are continuing and a set I was able to preorder for my presentation I came up with the following versions of the same card sketch. I love how you can get so many ideas from the Stampin'Up! catalogues, they are such a valuable resource!
Here is the same sketch but done in a landscape orientation. Don't you like how the change in orientation changes the whole look of the Framelit and the card?
I have created the two tone effect on the angel by stamping the angel onto Whisper White card with Versamark. then I sprinkled gold embossing powder just on the wings, head and horn. I shook off the excess making sure to tip the card in a direction that the powder would not go over the other parts of the image. then I sprinkled Tempting Turquoise embossing powder over the rest of the image tapped off the excess and heat set it with a heat gun.
I did the same iridescent ice embossing trick on the embossed background. The sparkle does not show up that well in the photo. The border has been done with the lace ribbon border punch and brushed gold cardstock. I'd put the card together and then realised that the punch is retiring so made my second copy of the card for the display boards using the scallop trim border punch.
So don't under estimate the value of the catalogue as a resource when creativity is failing you momentarily!
