Congratulation Cards

I wanted to share with you these cards I made for my downline who recently achieved Top 25 Australian Demonstrator of the Year 2012 at our Australian Stampin'Up! Convention. I was playing with my new diagonal Simply Scored plate that had arrived the day before in my demonstrator preorder - that's right a diagonal scoring plate! You too can have one soon. From July 1st you can order this plate for $20.95 to go with your Simply Scored tool as Stampin'Up! is releasing this item before the new catalogue starts on September 1st.

So I have diagonally scored the Confetti White card to create an embossed background for my card. I had hoped it would show up more clearly in the single photo. The ribbon was added as a feature, it is Basic Grey striped grosgrain. the congrats sentiment is from one of my favourite sets - Curly Cute. A touch of bling was the final addition with Poppy Parade glimmer brads to co-ordinate with the Poppy Parade cardstock.

So congratulations Simone Bartrum, Juliana Main, Tracy Penn and Maureen Crameri on your achievement! I am so happy for all of you!

Field Flowers Card

Better late than never! I have finally christened my Field Flowers stamp set. On my Pinterest page I have pinned many cards using this set and now at long last I have created a card using my set!

The trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig is a must when stamping with this set if you are like me and like perfect placement when doing two step stamping ( I have to admit I am not a perfectionist when it comes to mounting my woodmount stamps).

So what did I use?

Card - Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla
Stamps - Field Flowers, French Foliage, Rue Des Fleurs, Tiny Tags
Ink - Always Artichoke, Elegant Eggplant, River Rock
Accessories - Big Shot, Finial Press embossing folder, Mini Vintage tags, Always Artichoke seam binding ribbon, Chantilly crochet trim.

I did make another card using this set today but that is for my class ladies to see!

Reason to Smile

This months wonderful offer from Stampin'Up! is this stamp set FREE when you  make a $125 order of Stampin'Up! products.

I showed you my box card in the previous post using this lovely set. Here is another card creation I made with it. Personally I think it is very pretty!

I stamped the images in Early Espresso and the used the overstamp image to add a colour layer of Pink Pirouette ink. A central stamp of So Saffron finished off each daisy.

The pleated Pink Pirouette ribbon adds a pretty accent to a simple and quickly created card.

Thanks for dropping by for a look and make sure you get an order in to get this exclusive set for free only in the month of June!

Bargello Card

After our recent Australian Stampin'Up! Convention I set myself the challenge to make a card a day. So far I have managed to complete my challenge on four out of six days! I allowed myself a couple of days to get my head around everything I saw and learnt at Convention. So I am not doing too badly!

Here is a card I completed using pieces I had made at one of my classes. "UFO's" is what my stamping pal Chris McLucas calls them. "Unfinished Objects" and isn't everyones' desk covered in those!

The bargello piece uses Designer Series paper "Attic Boutique" from the Autumn-Winter mini catalogue.

I used card weight vellum and ran it through the big Shot with a Designer Frame embossing folder for the centre of the card piece. Sentiment is from the stamp set "Thankyou Kindly". The background stamp is from French Foliage.

Card is Confetti White, Poppy Parade and Soft Suede.

The card was made for Michaela Laurie, of Paper Quilt Creations as a thankyou for the lovely lunch she put on for Naomi and I when we arrived in Canberra last week. Michaela exhibits at Naomi's Paperific Show and the next show is coming up in August! We had the most delicious soup which both of us have since made on arriving home it was that good!

Here's to me sticking to my challenge although I am excusing myself from the days I work night duty!

June Technique Class - Box Card

This month in my technique class you can come along and learn how to make this style of card known as a Box Card.  It is a great card to create as it combines card with gift holder - a two in one card. It is very suitable for giving jewellery or similar sized gift.

Here is the card closed and below is the card open.

If you would like to learn how to create your own box card then here are the dates for my June class.

Saturday June 23 at 1.30pm
Thursday June  28 at 7.30pm

Please email me at to reserve your place.

Something else to note with this card is the stamp set - "Reason to Smile" that I've used. It's not one you would have seen before and that is because it is an exclusive stamp set released by Stampin'Up! just for the month of June. You can have this stamp set for FREE this month when you place a $125 order. Or if you like the stamp set you can buy it alone without any other purchase for $28.95 plus p&h. This lovely stamp set consists of seven stamps and is a 2 step stamping set.  You can see the full set here at my Stampin'Up! website .You'll have to agree it is a lovely stamp set.

Email me if you would like to make an order or would like to book into my class.

To finish up this post I'd like to say thanks to one of my downline - Julie Stork, who gave me a box card as her team swap at the recent Stampin'Up! Convention in Canberra. Thankyou Julie for the inspiration for my class this month.

Stampin'Up! Australian Convention 2012 Photos

Well here we go with showing you a small selection of my convention photos. The theme for this years Convention was "I Am..." and here's me in front of the photo shoot board for Convention.

A selection of the many swaps I received. They were gorgeous!

Our lovely Convention bag. It will be very useful for workshops / Stampin'Up! parties.

My room mate and "sister" demonstrator Julia Quinn and I awaiting the opening of Memento Mall the first morning of Convention. VIP's were Managers and Above who then had a Leadership talk to go and attend once we had shopped ourselves silly in Memento Mall!

One of the beautiful items on display in the Demonstrator Resource Centre at Convention. There were so many gorgeous items here made by some very talented Aust & NZ demonstrators.

Outside Parliament House, Canberra where Managers' Reception was held in the Mural Hall. A very special and memorable evening with Stampin'Up! CEO Shelli Gardner, Stampin'Up! staff and fellow Stampin'Up! Managers.

More Demonstrator Resource Centre display cards.

Second day of Convention at Canberra Convention Centre. Julia Quinn, my former upline and fellow road tripper to Canberra Naomi Swan and me at Convention entrance. Loved the sign designs for this Convention - very clever!

Shelli Gardner giving our closing address. Very sad to think convention is over for another year.

Awards Dinner with my wonderful downline Simone Bartrum. Many congratulations to Simone for placing 6th in Demonstrator of the Year 2012!

And to finish off, one of Shelli's quick workshop wow projects she showed off to us during her very "funny" presentation. Read Shelli's version here at her blog. We all thought she was wonderful!

Thanks for taking the time to share my Convention moments.

Stampin'Up! Convention 2012

I know this is out of order for Convention happenings but I just had to share this fabulous photo with you. It was taken just before the start of the Stampin'Up! Awards Night and it shows me with most of my team who were attending the Australian Stampin'Up! Convention in Canberra.

The theme for Convention was "I Am ..." and so we made our own "I Am..." signs for this very special team photo. I love it!

I was so proud of my team at Awards Night as I had FOUR of my wonderful team finish in the Top 25 Demonstrators of the Year Awards. Congratulations to Simone Bartrum 6th, Juliana Main 9th, Tracy Penn 10th and Maureen Crameri 13th. Well done Girls!!!!!

We all had so much fun at Convention and now we have next years Convention in Brisbane to look forward to!

Team Bag Tags for 2012 Stampin'Up! Australian Convention

Well I am on the way back home from our 2012 Stampin'Up! Australian Convention in Canberra. We are spending the night again in Albury as we head home. I had hoped (rather hopefully) to keep you all up to date with the latest happenings and news while there but I did not have a moment to scratch myself! It was busy, busy, busy! So much to see and do for the last 3 days!

Firstly I have a had a terrific road trip with my former Stampin'Up! upline Naomi Swan ( now Paperific CEO) as we have headed up the Hume Highway to Canberra from Melbourne last Tuesday. We overnighted in Albury and finished off our swaps before arriving in Canberra on Wednesday.

Check in at the Waldorf was fun as we greeted so many familiar faces and caught up on their news. My lovely room mate was Julia Quinn from the Sunshine Coast - so good to see her again! We had some terrific times together with Naomi at Convention - stay tuned for photos!

Here are the bag tags I made for my team to attach to their Convention bags to show they were part of my Inksationals team. It was wonderful to meet the newer members of the team and put names to faces. We had 23 Inksational team members at Convention. I will post a fabulous photo of all of us at Awards Night in one of my next posts.

To make the tags I used Stampin'Up! chipboard run through the Big Shot with one of the tags on the Two Tags die. I daubed the chipboard with Platinum Shimmer paint and it gave the chipboard a lovely suede finish. The flowers were done using Flirtatious Designer fabric cut out using Fun flowers die. A matching Designer button sewn on with white Bakers twine and each demonstrators initial done with the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet and Big Shot and my team tags were done!

Naomi is updating her Paperific blog as I do this so the race is on to see who can finish first!!!! I promise to give you more Convention news once I have my photos uploaded. See you all soon.
