Masked Sponging

I've been busy making cards for my poster displays for the upcoming Scrapbook Papercraft Expo this weekend at the Melbourne Exhibition Buildings in Carlton. I will post a few of them here over the next few posts.

My favourite technique is Masked Sponging so of course I had to add a few new cards using this technique. I love it for being colourful and making a lovely clean and simple style of card.

The card below uses the stamp set "By the Tide" from the Seasonal catalogue. The script stamp has a lovely poem about seashells.

For the next card I finally christened my "Pleasant Poppies" stamp. I loved this stamp as soon as I saw it in the annual catalogue and I bought it with my first order from the catalogue. It has sat on my desk waiting patiently since September to be used............well I realised that the masked sponging technique would be a terrific way to show off this lovely stamp. What do you think?

I'll be demonstrating this technique on Saturday at the Scrapbook Papercraft Expo. For more information visit here . If you are there on Saturday do come by and say hello.

One Layout Two Ways

Here are a couple of cards I made after I loved the result I had with my son's 20th birthday card which  I showed you in my last post.  I thought then that I would like to play with the layout more and try some other ideas I had. Especially when Stampin'Up! has so many gorgeous papers to play with!

So here they are!

I am so impressed with the papers in the Print Poetry Paper Stack.  It is so much easier to cut into a small piece of paper, the papers in the stack are just the right size for a card front, than cutting into  a 12 x 12 sheet when you only need a small paper piece!!!

The stamp is from "Pursuit of Happiness". There are some lovely sayings in this stamp set. You can see it on page 140 of the annual catalogue.

The little hearts are from the Owl Builder punch. They are just the right size for adding a nice little accent as a finishing touch.

The Window Frames framelit dies were used to cut the matts.

And here is my other creation.

This was going to be a Valentine's card but we are past that special day so it became an anniversary card, nothing like being ready well in advance.

More lovely papers used here, this time it is the More Amore Specialty Series Papers. The Big Shot gets another go with the Hearts Collections framelits to create the matts.

It is always good to have an anniversary stamp, so to have one in the Memorable Moments stamp set is a terrific bonus. Perfect for creating special event anniversary cards. See the stamp set on page 139 of the Annual catalogue.

Thanks for coming by my blog!

Birthday Card - Memorable Moments

My youngest turned 20 last weekend and I suddenly felt older as I realised I was no longer the mother of any teenagers! I am now the mother of three young adults!

This is the card I made for him, inspired by several versions I have seen on Pinterest.

He was delighted with his card and gave me lots of compliments! I was rather chuffed with how it turned out too! I love the earthiness of it!

Stamps - Memorable Moments,  For My Family
Card - Crumbcake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Ink - Marina Mist, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Paper - Parker's Patterns
Other items - Labels Collection framelits, Natural trim ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Neutrals brads

I have a papercrafting show coming up and need to make sample cards for our team display so I made more cards using this layout as I liked it so much. I'll post these at a later date so do come by again to see how they turned out.

Squash Card No 2

Here is another squash card I have made for my upcoming class this month. I have used the Sale-a-bration Designer Series papers Sycamore Street and the Sale-a-bration stamp set Madison Avenue to make this card.

This is the card front

and here is the inside when folded out.

Here is a close up of the inside pages.

Another Sale-a-bration stamp set, Vintage Verses provided the greetings inside the card. I really like the paper design and colours in the middle card piece. It certainly created an interesting and pleasing pattern when used this way for this card.

If you would like to recreate this card or make something similar you can email me to book a place in my class on Saturday February 23rd at 1.30pm. Class cost is $20 and includes instructions and materials. Email me jannic@bigpond.com to secure your place in the class.

Patterned Occasions Gift Cards

Hi There! Here are some more Sale-a-bration cards I have made recently. These gift cards using the Sale-a-bration stamp set "Patterned Occasions". I used these cards as inspiration to CASE. from my Pinterest page.

I varied the card layout, punches used and added buttons from the Sale-a-bration Sycamore Street button and ribbon pack. That's what I enjoy about CASEing you start out planning to make the same card and then you start adding your own variations ultimately creating something similar but different in its own way.

I actually have three Sale-a-bration products on show here. The Patterned Occasions stamp set, the Sycamore Street ribbon and buttons and Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper.

Punches used are - Decorative label, scallop oval, extra large oval, scallop circle 6 cm, scallop circle 4.4cm

Have some fun playing around and creating your own set of cute gift cards.

Thanks for visiting.

February Class - Squash Book

The year has well and truly begun so it is time to get back into doing classes again! Yay!!!!

This month I will be teaching you how to create a fun squash book card. You can give this card as a fun decorated card or as a mini scrapbook to someone you love or make yourself a mini scrapbook of a special occasion or loved one. There are so many possibilities!

Here is the first one I created. I made it for my daughter's birthday in January and I decided to put in the photos of a very special occasion for her and us from last year to make it a card she would always treasure.

This is the card front.

And here is the card when opened. Imagine the delight on the recipients face when they open this amazing card made by you!

There are so many ways to decorate this card, so I will have more examples for you to see when you come to my class.

So when are my classes?
