Greeting Card Kids Waterfall Cards

Today is the last day of the current Stampin'Up! Catalogue so as a farewell to it here are some waterfall cards created by my class ladies on Thursday night using the retiring stamp set Greeting Card Kids.

The one below is by Kerri Seedsman. I am so going to have to create one of my own of this card - I love it!

This next one is by Gill May. The "Be of Good Cheer" DSP makes this card really pop! Pity it is retiring too!

Here is Mary Brooks version - so cute!

And finally Rhonda Edward's lovely sweet card!

Seeing these gorgeous cards created made me wish I had bought this set sooner and done a lot more creating with it. Well I am off to a mega crop day next weekend so I will have to have a play with it then!

New catalogue from tomorrow so lots of new creations to show you. See you then!

Lovely as a Tree card

I've been absent from posting as I have been away and then once home I have been focusing on tidying, sorting and reorganising my stamping area. It desperately needed it! After 4 days of attacking I finally have a lovely clear desk, tidy shelves with retired stock all moved out to storage. The feeling is good!!!!!

One thing that happens when you do a major cleanup is you find all sorts of things, including all those stamped images or half finished cards that are just waiting for completion. So once I finished today I set myself a challenge to make a card using one of the items I'd found.

I chose a stamped image from "Lovely as a Tree",( which you will be amazed to hear is continuing on in the next Stampin'Up! catalogue!) that I had created in one of my classes about 3 - 4 years ago. I think it was to demonstrate the technique of "marker to stamp", I don't think it was "thumping", it looks too neat!

I chose this image as it used More Mustard and of course this colour is retiring as of June 30 so time to use the card and ink before it retires. I like how the Natural Trim ribbon adds to the earthy feel of the card. A few runs of the fingernail along the card edges to roughen them up, adhere it all and my card was done. If only I could create that quickly at other times!!!!

So now I have a positive area to create in again, I aim to be posting here far more regularly! Thanks for coming by!

Fun Fold Card

I'm currently away from home so I'm posting a card I made while doing my fun fold card classes last month. I had the base cards cut out and sitting on my desk waiting, waiting, waiting... then realised I needed a birthday card for one of my downline Tracy Penn who was celebrating her birthday while we were at Convention. So here is what I created.

Card  - Gumball Green, Whisper White
Paper - 2012-2014 In Colour paper stack
Ink - Early Espresso
Stamps- Papillion Potpurri, Itty Bitty Banners
Embossing Folder- Woodgrain

Home soon and then it is time to play with all the goodies from the new catalogue that have arrived while I have been away!!!

Trishutter Card for 50th birthday

My brother is being a terrific agent for me. He recently asked if I would make a 50th birthday card for one of his colleagues to give her daughter. The only request being the card should have the recipients name and 50 on it.

Well how to decide what to create, that was the dilemma for me! I mulled over doing a double gatefold or trying something totally different. In the end time was a factor so I chose to do a trishutter card and here it is.

I based the card around using one of the retiring Simply Scrappin'Kits - Razzleberry Splash. So everything was there ready for me to use which made creating a bit quicker and easier. I think so much time with card making is taken up with procrastinating about where and what to do next so settling on using the kit did cut down marginally on that aspect!!!!!

The silver glimmer paper made the card really "pop" and they were cut out using the Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies.

From all reports my "client" loved it - I hope the recipient does too!!!!

Convention 2013 General Swap

I can't believe it a week has gone by since I arrived home from Convention - that week has flown by!!! I've had so much to do with unpacking from Convention, admiring my many swaps and making my wish list from the new catalogue plus marking off all the retiring items in my retiring catalogue. I've also run classes as well as caught up with the family's needs. Just as well I am on holidays!

Talking of swaps and retiring products, here is my swap that I made for general swapping at Convention.

You might recognise it from I posted on my blog earlier this year here. I did create more of the original version but also this one using Real Red Core'dinations card, Crumbcake card as the
backing and Real Red stitched grosgrain ribbon.

If you would like to recreate this card you had better get an order placed as the lovely Paper Daisies 119243 and Designer Builder brads 129329 are retiring June 30 and will no longer be available.

The pretty red centre is created by using the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack 118309 to punch out a circle of Real Red card and then it is adhered to the brad and the epoxy bubble is self adhered over that. It really does make a lovely effect.

If you would like to order any of these items you can visit my online store and place an order there. You enter via the "Shop Now " button to the right of this post.
