Work of Art Card

Only one more day and we are officially into the new 2014-2015 Stampin'Up! Annual Catalogue here in Australia! So here is a sneak peek of one of the popular new stamp sets from the new catalogue.

The stamp set is called Work of Art 134111 and the set contains 11 stamps - 4 are sentiments, the rest are brush stroke images.

I have seen loads of cards on Pinterest created using this set. For my first play I wanted to create something different, so using my Stamp-a-ma-jig from Stampin'up! I came up with the card below.

The heart shaped stamp image just screamed out flower petals to me so I created a flower image using it - hence the need for the stamp positioner! The background brush strokes are also an image from this stamp set as is the sentiment.

I do like the new thick bakers twine too! And what do you think of the new In Colour - Hello Honey for the petals?

Card - Coastal Cabana, Whisper White

Stamps - Work of Art 134111

Ink - Hello Honey, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso

Extras - Burlap ribbon, Coastal Cabana thick bakers twine, Scallop Circle punch

Thanks for dropping by!

Petite Petals Punch from Stampin'Up!

I love, love, love this gorgeous little punch  Petite Petals which is in the Celebration Catalogue and fabulously is continuing on in the new upcoming Stampin'Up! Annual Catalogue! Plus it has a cute matching stamp set. This is so typical of Stampin'Up! to have products that co-ordinate so perfectly.

The card I am sharing with you today was CASE"d from a swap that my lovely downline Simone Bartrum received on the recent Stampin'Up! Incentive Trip/Cruise in the Caribbean. We recently had a one on one get together sharing ideas and projects which was a lot of fun.

I fell in love with the simplicity yet elegance of the card. I'm sorry but I don't have the name of the demonstrator who created it. If someone knows could they please comment on here as it is such a terrific design.

I made three of these cards to use as thankyous for some of my team girls. A little tip that Simone shared with me. If you want to make your flower petals stand up instead of dragging along each petal with a bone folder, use your Simply Scored Stylus and with your flower on a Stampin'Pierce mat, press down in the middle of your flower with the ball tip of the stylus to create an indentation that has the flower petals springing up. Such a cool idea for the teeny tiny blossoms in the centre of the Petite Petal flowers.

Card - Naturals White 129588, Cantaloupe Crisp 131303, Pear Pizzazz 131290

Ink - Baked Brown Sugar131174

Punches - Petite Petal 133322, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack 118309 (This pack is on the retired list and has I am sorry to say sold out), Bird Builder 117191

Stamps - Lots of Thanks 129687

Extra - Burlap ribbon 132140

Thanks for looking!

Six Sided Sampler Cards from Card Monthly Class

I thought I would share with you the cards we created in my first Card Monthly Class this month. The ladies who attended had a great time making cards and chatting. It was a lovely relaxing get together!

The focus of my Card Monthly classes is to make cards using a chosen stamp set for that month and using it and associated accessories to create cards of varying designs. This month it was Six Sided Sampler, matching punch, embossing folder and framelit.

So here is the first one. Always love a card that has some bling about it!

Second card we made.

Third card.

And the fourth and final card we made.

If you would like to join us next month please let me know. Classes are held third Wednesday evening and third Friday morning of the month.

Stampin'Up! Happenings Simply Created Card Kit

I have to admit I've never been one to use card kits. I always like to create my cards from scratch.

However on a recent weekend away I wanted to take some craft with me but did not want the hassle of packing heaps of stamping stuff just in case I might use it. I had Stampin'Up! kits left over from a craft show earlier in the year and decided to take one with me to make over the weekend. Well did I have a pleasant surprise! I had a lovely time creating my 15 cards and all I had to take extra was ink, scissors and tape!

I also had peace and quiet, a lovely view, a glass of wine and the fun of creating - what more could I ask for?

 This is the view

And here is my kit laid out ready to create.

The kit comes with everything precut and scored. Just follow the instructions or vary the design as you desire. There is also a stamp set "Says It All" designed to complement this kit. It took me just under 2 hours to create my 15 cards. A very satisfying time indeed!

Here are my completed cards.

Since coming home I have delved into my ready made pile of cards on several occasions when a card was needed there and then! These cards are so handy to have on hand! So if you fancy a bit of craft while spending some time away but don't want loads of space consumed by your crafting gear, then how about trying out one of the selection of Stampin'Up! card, album or wreath kits?

You can order these kits directly from my online store. Hit the " Shop Now" tab to the right of this post or on the images below.

Stampin'Up! Blendabilities - My First Creation!

Here is my first creation after having my first play with my new Stampin'Up! Blendabilities. At the recent Stampin'Up! Convention we were all lucky enough to receive the Calypso Coral Blendabilities pack!  I love colouring in pictures ( the reason I took up stamping all those years ago! ) and these Blendabilities are right up my alley!

See how different the two images look? Just goes to show how adding more or less colour or blending more than less creates different levels of colour intensity. As my Stampin'Up! preorder has not arrived yet I didn't have a black Memento ink pad to stamp my images with so instead I stamped the flowers with Versamark ink and heat embossed the image with Basic Black embossing powder. Using Staz-On ink or other inkpads will only cause your colouring in to bleed with the ink and make your image all muddy.

The gift cards are 3x3 inches. The floral image is from a retiring stamp set - Secret Garden. You only have until June 30 to purchase it then it will be GONE! I'll be sad to see this set go as I have had so much use from it.

For the leaves I used Summer Silhouettes stamp set and on the left inked the leaves in Pear Pizzazz and on the right Old Olive.
Table by StampinBuddy. Try it FREE.

I hope my preorder turns up soon! I can't wait to play with all the other Blendabilities I have ordered! You will be able to order yours from July 1st!

I found these photos when I was going through my pics and realised I had not shared this card in a box that i made back when I was running this particular class.

Unfortunately this stamp set, framelits and paper are all retiring at the end of the month, so if you fell you need to have them then you had better get to and order them! You can go direct to my online store and make our order there - just click on the Shop Now tab.
