Stampin'Up! Tin of Cards

As mentioned in my last post I spent a fabulous weekend at Escape to Create craft retreat weekend at The Country Place, Kalorama. This was my sixth retreat with this terrific group of ladies, 33 of us attended this year. We have a fun weekend scrapbooking, cardmaking and having fun girl time. I love attending, it really is a highlight of my year and one I look forward to for several months beforehand as I mentally plan projects to take with me. It is all organised by the wonderful Julie Marshall at Escape to Create.

Since the new Stampin'Up! annual catalogue, well even from this years Convention in May, I have loved the new kits available. I ordered them all with the plan of making them all at Retreat. I started on the Tin of Cards and here is my completed kit. Love it!

The gorgeous tin is part of the kit, everything is precut, you just do the stamping and assembling. I have always wanted a storage box for my completed cards and now I have it! Perfect!

Below are the lovely cards that come as part of the kit - 16 all up, 4 of each design and you choose the occasion each card will be used for by adding the sentiments from the co-ordinating stamp set Tin of Cards. You also create the headers on your file tabs and decorate with matching papers included in the kit.

Here is a pic I took as I created so you can see how the die cut butterflies come in the kit.

See how you can make the card match the occasion using the Tin of Cards stamp set.

Finally here I am with some of my crafting buddies at Retreat!

Thanks ladies for a wonderful weekend of papercrafting fun!

Craft and Quilt Show

Last Thursday I was manning our Stampin'Up! stand at the Craft & Quilt Show here in Melbourne along with my great team of Inksational stampers. Our stand looked terrific and I met so many lovely enthusiastic papercrafters.

Well done to my team of demonstrators for manning the stand over the weekend as I headed off on a Scrapbooking Retreat that is always a highlight of my year. This was the sixth retreat for me with a great bunch of scrapbookers. See my next post  for more.

Pretty Petals Hexagon Punch Card

Today is my birthday and I would love to show off the gorgeous card my daughter Georgie made me. She was so pleased with it she had to give it to me yesterday when I came in from work! I love that feeling when you are so excited by a card you have made that you just have to give it to the recipient then and there!!!!

Georgie had found my new paper stack of Pretty Petals Designer Series Papers and made this beautiful card using the hexagon punch. Isn't this paper so divine! Love the poppy prints! Adding the Red Glimmer paper was a masterful stroke by Georgie, it adds that extra bit of pazzazz to the overall card effect.

When I went to my desk this morning in the bin I found her template. She has taken so much care to get her card perfect!

Do you like the new Washi Label punch used to punch out the Teeny Tiny Sentiment/

I have had a wonderful birthday and been very spoiled by my lovely family and friends. Thankyou for my lovely cards and presents!

The Butterfly Thinlits are so much fun to play with. You can create stunning cards very easily. this card was one of the samples from my June class. One of the techniques was sponged backgrounds. I showed off one of my other sponged background cards in this post.

Have fun experimenting with different colour combos!
