Quick & Easy Card Using Button Buddies Flower Stamp

You know I enjoy making quick and easy cards. Well here is one I created the other day using the flower image from the stamp set Button Buddies.

I used the Rockn'Roll technique to ink up the flower using Crumb Cake ink first, then rolling the outer edges of the stamp in Marina Mist ink. The flowers are punched out using the Scallop Circle punch. The image is the perfect size to fit this punch.

The folded card is Crumb Cake with Crumb Cake seam binding ribbon and the flowers were attached over the ribbon. A clear Bitty Button in the middle of the centre flower tied off with linen thread finished off the flowers.

The sentiments come from the set Fabulous Phrases.

I could have background stamped the folded card but sometimes you just need to have some clean space on your creations!

Elizabeth and Kindness Matters Card

I had a lovely day creating with friends from work on Friday and was able to have a play with some of my newest stamps -" Elizabeth " being one of them. This is one of the a'la carte stamps in the current Stampin'Up! Idea Book and Catalogue.
I stamped Elizabeth onto watercolour paper with black Staz-On and watercoloured it using watercolour crayons. I had not had them out for a very long time so had a wonderful time using them again! The butterflies from Kindness Matters were stamped onto the same card, coloured and cut out.
The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. Nothing like having a card ready a few months before I need it!!!

The watercolour piece was matted onto More Mustard and Garden Green matts and then onto a folded Cherry Cobbler card that had been stamped around the edge using a stamp from the Established Elegance stamp set.

I like it! Hope you do too!

Outlined Occasions SAB Stamp Set Cards

Here are some samples I have made using the last of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets you can choose for free during SAB when you make an order for Stampin'Up! products of $100 or more. You can email me with your orders - jannic@bigpond.com if you are in Australia.

To get the perfect placement of the words I used my trusty Stampamajig. It really is a vital part of your stamping kit - if you have not got one you NEED one!!!!

Stamps - Outlined Occasions, Confetti
Cardstock - Real Red or Old Olive, Whisper White and Basic Black
Ink - Staz-On Black, Real Red or Old Olive
Accessories - Stampn'Write markers, thin taffetta ribbon

You could bling this up more by adding glitter or diamentes if you wanted to. The little bow on the Celebrate card is a "fork" bow. There are many tutorials online for this technique and they are many and varied. I find a different way each time I look!!!!

Flower Garden Embossing Folder

As per usual I buy up big when a new mini catalogue comes out and then it takes me ages to get around to trying everything out! Well I finally had a chance to play with the lovely Textured Impressions embossing folder - Flower Garden from the current Summer mini catalogue and I love it!

If you want a very quick and easy card this has to be it. I have run the embossing folder through on to Whisper White card added Concord Crush stitched ribbon and attached it to a folded Concord Crush card. Then with a cute little stamp set also from the summer mini called Pretty Postage I stamped up the birthday image, punched it out with another great new item the 1 inch square punch. It was then popped onto a Concord Crush piece of card punched out using the new Postage Stamp punch.

You have to love how all the items in the Stampin'Up! range co-ordinate so beautifully with each other. It makes them such great value.

Telescope Card Class

This is my first telescopic card creation and I will be making many more once my next order arrives from Stampin'Up!. Glitter Window Elementary Elegance Card

Here's another lovely idea for the Sale-a-bration stamp set Elementary Elegance. I've used a technique which I have shown before on my blog - glitter windows.

To create the window, stamp your image on your card, then punch or cut out the shape/window. Turn over the card and apply sticky tape across the cut out area. Turn it back over and sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the sticky area and tap off excess. Your glitter window is created! Stamp the images you want to view through your window on card bigger than your window and attach underneath the window. Finish your card!

Colours used here are Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point and Whisper White.
Stamps are Elementary Elegance, Clearly For you and Artistic Etchings.
Embossing folder is Finial Press.

Fresh Vintage Centrefold Card

Here is a centrefold card I made highlighting the floral stamp from the Sale-a-bration set Fresh Vintage. The stamp has been inked up using marker to rubber technique.

Colours are Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade.

The brads and papers are Everyday Enchantment collection form the Sale-a-bration pamphlet.

Triple Treat Flower and Sale-a-bration DSP

I saw a card similar to this somewhere on the net and I am sorry but I cannot remember where, but thankyou to the creator for the inspiration to make this card.
The Triple Treat Flower stamp is one of the a la carte stamps from Stampin'Up! so what this means it is a single stamp for you to buy and you can do so much with it, check out the post here. For this card I first stamped the flower in Poppy Parade and punched it out using the Fancy Flower punch, then I restamped the flower in Pool Party and punched out the inner flower using the 5 Petal flower punch. Then a Sale-a-bration Everyday Enchantment brad in the middle, adhere it all to a 2.5 inch circle punched out using that size punch and mounted onto Everyday Enchantment DSP. The background matts are Pool Party and Very Vanilla.
The words come from Fabulous Phrases.

Sale-a-bration - Sprinkled Expressions Set

Here's another set of samples for you this time using the Sprinkled Expressions Sale-a-bration stamp set. For my first play with this set I decided to try using them with the rockn'roll technique. I used Pink Pirouette and Poppy Parade inks on the heart stamp and Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade on the flower stamp.

Fabulous Florets 21st Birthday Card

Today I'd like to show off the pretty card I made for my daughter's 21st Birthday. I used a lovely stamp set from the current Summer Mini catalogue called Fabulous Florets. This is such a versatile set as it can be left as an outline image or coloured or mixed with the solid stamped images depending on the look you desire for your card/page.

The centre image has been created using the gorgeous glimmer paper from the mini catalogue. The red and silver paper/card is great for lots of projects and it doesn't shed glitter when put through the Big Shot as I have done here to cut out the numbers. The numbers come from Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies for the Big Shot.

Colours used are Real Red, Tangerine Tango and Certainly Celery for card and inks.
The added bit of bling comes from a Basic Jewels pack - love these for adding that little added extra touch to my cards!

Fresh start for 2012!

As mentioned in my last blog some big changes have been happening in our household. One of the bonuses of these changes was I was forced to redo my stamping space and storage areas. So here is the proof that I commenced 2112 with a clean and tidy stamping space!!!!

All my spare supplies have had to move from the study into the dining room, our bedroom and hallway so that has been a bit of a juggling act trying to work out where to store my most required stamping goodies and business needs, time will tell if I have it right!

My stamping space is now well cluttered with Sale-a-bration creations, which if you would like to create some of them yourself, how about coming along to my Mystery Hostess Sale-a-bration workshop on January 26th at 7.30pm here at my place in Mt. Hi Everyone!

Happy 2012! Life has been very busy in our household what with preparing for Christmas, moving eldest son and girlfriend back into our home (fitting another house full of furniture in has called for some creativeness) and in the process I lost my stamping/business room,all while preparing for a 21st Birthday party here for our daughter last weekend. So things have been hectic and stamping has had to take a back seat. Today I reorganised my stamping areas and while I did so my daughter made her thankyou cards for her birthday gifts. It is lovely to see my stamping gear used and she uses my retired goodies so all good! So here are her terrific creations - she made an original for each person!

She took inspiration from the current Idea Book & Catalogue for some of her cards. Check out the closeups! I hope to get back into some stamping this week as need to prepare for Sale-a-bration!

Regional Swap and 2012 Family Christmas card

Hi Everyone and thanks for stopping by! I'm now back from a wonderful time away in Merimbula and feeling rested ready for the Christmas mayhem!

Here is my Christmas card I'm using this year for family and friends. My downline received this card as a swap at our November Stampin'Up! Regionals.

One of my projects while away on holiday was to make all my Christmas cards for this year and I did accomplish that! I made 25 of these and 25 of another design. Don't think I have a spare of it to photograph and show you, silly me!

This card uses the Dasher stamp, I've had a bit of a love affair with it this year and used it quite a few times when I was doing the centrefold cards.The other stamp sets are Confetti and Contempo Christmas.

Cardstock is Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White.
Inks are Soft Suede, Early Espresso ( used on the antlers).
Embellishment is Stampin'Glitter Fine Galaxy.

Dasher Centrefold Card

Simply Soft Centrefold Card

Here is another centrefold card I whipped up after my class to give to one of my midwifery buddies whose birthday is coming up very soon.

Ink - Island indigo, Lucky Limeade, Black Staz-On
Accessories - Pool Party ruffled ribbon, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, blender pen

To try something new on this card I cut down the length of the Island Indigo punched ribbon border strip and layered it behind the Lucky Limeade ribbon punch strip. I think it worked out quite nicely!

Simply Soft Centrefold Card

Okay time to get back to showing off some of my card creations! Last weekend was my last set of classes for the year and we made Centrefold cards. This one is made using the hostess set Simply Soft. This is such a pretty set with the different floral stamp options plus you have the choice of two step stamping or water colouring in the images. You have to love stamp sets that offer versatility!

For this card I chose the two step stamping option.

Cardstock - Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla.
Stamps - Simply Soft, Creative Elements.
Ink - Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Black Staz-On
Accessories - Island Indigo ruffled ribbon, Victoria crochet trim,Dotted ScallopRibbon border punch, linen thread, Pearl basic jewels, Dimensionals, blender pens.

Do like the effect created by layering the ruffled ribbon over the crochet trim.

Everyone had a lovely time creating their cards and learning a terrific new card construction idea. As for decorating your centrefold card the only limit is your imagination!!!!

"Chanel" Mocha Morning DSP Tote

Well here it is my "ta-da" tote bag! I love how this tote turned out. The moment I saw the Mocha Morning Speciality DSP in the new IB&C when I received my copy in August I knew I had to use it to create one of these totes. It is just so elegant!

The DSP has a black flock so apart from looking great it is also beautiful in a tactile way too if you know what I mean. I love the "Chanel" bow it sets off the whole tote beautifully. The black card circles and handles were sprayed with Champagne Gold shimmer paint made into a mist with rubbing alcohol to give a bit of sparkle and it is topped off with the added bling of the neutrals glimmer brads.

Who would not love to receive a gift in one of these totes??????

Black and White Tote

This is the second last of the totes I presented at Regionals. This is also one of my favourites along with the last one that I will show you next time you visit. There is something about black and white that looks so stylish don't you think?

When I made this tote I had in mind all the 21st birthday parties my daughter goes to that have a B&W theme so made a bag to continue along with the theme for her to use as her gift bag.

The flower motif on the front is done using the Fun Flowers die with the Big Shot. This is one of the wonderful dies that are exclusive to Stampin'Up! You can order yours through a Stampin'Up! demonstrator like me! To give the flower a bit of dimension I gently curled the petals upwards. A basic jewel rhinestone in the centre finishes it off. The brads to secure the handles are clear rhinestone brads.

Do make sure you visit in the next couple of days to see my very favourite bag/tote that everyone adores. It is so elegant!

Extreme Measures Gift Tote

Here are two more of my Regionals gift totes for you to have a look at for ideas.

The Tempting Turquoise tote at the back is done using 12x12 card, the front tote in Pacific Point card is made using 9x9 card.

I have decorated the back tote prior to scoring and folding using the standard roller wheel Vine and Blossom. The contrast colour used for the handles and corners is Rich Razzleberry. The corners are done using the 2 inch circle punch and it is finished off with matching colour flower brads.

The smaller tote is decorated using the stamp set Extreme Measures. Basic Black is the contrast card and the corners are done using a 1 1/4 inch circle punch. Mini Silver brads finish it off. A great tote for a male or teenage gift bag.

Gift Tote with Matching Cards

I'm really pleased with how this tote presented. I'm going to give this to one of my friends as a birthday present as she gives lots of cards and I know she will appreciate such a gift.

The tote and cards are made from Crumbcake cardstock and the contrast trim is Chocolate Chip.
Inks are Crumbcake, Chocolate Chip and Tangerine Tango.
Stamp sets are Curly Cute, Creative Elements, Pocket Silhouettes, Aviary, Friends Never Fade and Faith in Nature.
Butterflies are Beautiful Wings embosslit for the Big Shot.
Brads are from Vintage Trinkets.

The layout is one I saw on Clean & Simple. I very rarely create a card that has no layering whatsoever but I reckon these turned really nicely. I also like the fact they were so quick and easy to do! My trusty Stampamajig made sure everything was lined perfectly and it made the whole card creating project so easy. Love it!!!

Gift Tote from Regionals

Sorry about the delay in getting my next totes up on here - back at work and had very busy night duty shifts, so am a little bit tired!!
Anyway better late than never!

These are the totes I showed at Regionals which I made from Stampin'Up! Designer Series paper. I wondered if the paper would be strong enough but it worked out really well. You would not be able to put a heavy gift in them but for something small or light it would be perfect. The best part about these is that as the paper is double sided you get a gorgeous inside design as well!

The tote on the left is done with Paisley Petals DSP, one of my all time favourites. The Bravo Burgundy looks terrific, it really highlights the paper design.

The tote below is actually a smaller version done with 9x9 inch piece of DSP and you are getting a sneak peek of one of the new Designer Series papers from the upcoming Summer Mini catalogue coming out December 1. This paper is from the Beyond the Garden pack of DSP. Lots of lovely bright summery colours in this set of papers, I know you are going to love them! Wild Wasabi textured card is used on the handles and corners.

Check out the different brads I've used on these totes - Vintage brads for the top tote and Ice rhinestone brads for the smaller tote.

Melbourne Regionals Wow Gift Totes

Melbourne Stampin'Up! Regionals 2011

Here's the reason for my lack of posts over the last week, I was busy preparing my Workshop Wow presentation for the Stampin'Up! Melbourne Regionals that were held today at the Melbourne Convention Centre. It was an exciting day and a huge thrill to be asked to present to my fellow demonstrators. At the same time it was very nerve wracking to be on stage in front of nearly 400 enthusiastic stampers!

My Wow presentation was the cute little gift box tote I showed you earlier in the year on here but this time I made several new variations on different themes. The photo below shows some of them on display after my presentation. I will post better photos of them over the coming days.

I am very pleased to say my time up on stage went well and I had a great time! Overall the day was terrific with some fabulous presentations by demonstrators and Stampin'Up! staff. So many new ideas to try out before they disappear out of my head!

It was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with many of the members in my Stampin'Up! team and to catch up on everyones news. All up an awesome day! I have so much fun being a Stampin'Up! demonstrator!!!!

Centrefold Card Class

Here is a sample of a centrefold card which you will learn how to make at my November Technique class. This will be my last set of classes that I will be running this year.

Dates for the class are :-
Thursday November 24th at 7.30pm
Saturday November 26th at 1.30pm

All materials supplied including instructions. If you have a paper cutter with scorer please bring it along to make it easier for you. Time permitting you should be able to complete two cards in the class. Class is held in Mount Waverley at my home so places are limited.

Wet Paper Stamping

This is technique which was highlighted in our demonstrator publication Stampin'Up! Impressions a few months ago - on no I've just checked the article and it was a YEAR ago! Oh well at least I get around to trying out things eventually!!!! I've also had this stamp set - Always Elegant, sitting in my pile waiting to be "christened " too - it's not waited quite as long to be inked up!

Basically you mist spray a piece of watercolour paper with water.
Stamp your image in Stampin'Up! classic ink onto the dampened paper, don't panic the colour is meant to bleed into the paper. I used Pool Party as my first ink impression in the sample above. You can see the halo effect created by the ink bleeding outwards.
Wait for the paper to dry.
Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig restamp the image using a darker shade of coordinating ink.

Think about what stamps you have in your collection that you could use this technique with and have some fun! There is nothing like experimenting for a bit of fun and discovery!

I roughed up the edges of my piece using the distressing tool and then sprayed it with Precious Platinum shimmer paint mixed up in a bottle with rubbing alcohol. Smooch Spritz would give a similar effect.

It was matted onto Pool Party card and then onto folded Island Indigo card. Some paper piercing using the matt pack and paper piercer along with the stamped sentiment finishes it all off.

Tri Shutter Anniversary Card

Today is my darling husband's and my 30th Wedding Anniversary! Here is the card I made him to show just how much I love him and to thank him for 30 wonderful years together.

Making a tri shutter card lets you use so many items from your stamping stash and it all ends up looking sooooo good!!!

I've used Real Red as my card base, the matts are Very Vanilla and the DSP is from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack. Inks are Real Red and Early Espresso.
Stamp sets are I Heart Hearts, Clearly for You, Word Play and Artistic Etchings.
Accessories used are Real Red satin ribbon, heart to heart and small heart punch, corner rounder, and pinking hearts border punch. Big Shot and Timeless Type Junior Alphabet. Pearl basic jewels.

I hope he likes it! I certainly had a lot of fun making it for him!

Easy Events Cards

These cards are 4 x 4 inches. The images have been stamped on Whisper White card using black Staz-on ink - great to use when colouring in images as the ink will not bleed into your lighter colours. The images were coloured using Stampin'Up! Stampn'Write markers.

The tree above was coloured using a blender pen but the rest of the images were coloured direct to card.

The coloured cardstock was stamped in co-ordinating ink colours using the stamp set Confetti. I have a hard time leaving blank space on my cards so love little filler or background type stamps, they are perfect for filling in those blank spots.

As a lovely gift you could make up a set of these cards and pop them into a hand crafted gift box, they would make someone very happy.

If you wanted to jazz these up a bit more you could add glitter highlights or add an extra layer to the stamped image by highlighting an aspect of one of the images. For example you could restamp the image, colour just the icing of the cupcake and cut it out and adhere over your image already on the card.

Also to make the images "pop" i have outlined them in Sahara Sand marker. It's a bit hard to tell in the photos. The other way to make your images look clean and crisp is matting them onto black card.

You can mix and match colours, there is so much fun to be had with this cute set!

I've used smooth card stock apart form the Sending you Love card where I used Wild Wasabi textured card. Other colours used are Tempting Turquoise, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Peach Parfait and Daffodil Delight card.

Precious Butterflies Card

Sorry about the delay in posting but I am still dealing with camera memory and computer glitches! Every time I want to copy across from my camera to the computer, the computer does not recognise it has the photos already filed so copies every pic on the memory card, all 400+. I know I should just delete the photos on the memory card and probably will as I am tired of deleting multiple copies of every photo! Not technically savvy is moi!

Any way to my latest card creation. I made this using the hostess set Precious Butterflies. You can earn hostess sets by making an order with me for over $300 or hosting a workshop with sales over $300. An original card from me for a change! The colours used are Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant. It's actually a similar colour combination I used to love using before we had the new colour renovation. Back then I used Kiwi Kiss, Lavender Lace and Elegant Eggplant. So very pleased to have this colour combo again.

Morning Cup Card

I just love the new In Colour card in Pool Party along with its matching ruffled ribbon. I've co-ordinated it here with another new In Colour Calypso Coral.

The stamp set used is Morning Cup which I stamped up in black Staz-On and water coloured with an aqua painter on Confetti White card. This card is a great standby if you don't have any water colour paper handy. I like using Confetti card because I love the added pieces that are imbedded in the card, it adds texture to your image. The background was stamped in Pool Party ink using the background stamp Wonderfully Worn.

Zig Zag Card - September Class

Last class for the month tonight and here is one final sample card I just finished to show off to my class ladies tonight. I have a bit of a thing for black and white lately so thought I would try it out on a zigzag card. What do you think?

Stamp sets used were Creative Elements and Elements of Style.

In the second photo I was trying to show how I had layered the flower, paper tolle style, if you look closely you can see the layers.

Sorry about the dull background - very overcast and stormy here today. Also I have to say the carpet on the cat scratching post does not complement my card but the post is the ideal height for taking photos of cards!!!!! Plus it gets the best light!

Quick Card Using Jolly Bingo Bits

Christmas cards need to be really quick and easy if you are doing a multitude of them and this card certainly fits that criteria. I've used a simple layout so not a lot of involved cutting required and the stamped section is all randomly stamped using the set Jolly Bingo Bits.

You could jazz it up a bit more if you wanted with some bling but for Christmas cards in a hurry this one is a good one.

Card used is Real Red, Garden Green and Whisper White.
Inks - Real Red, Garden Green, Soft Suede and Pacific Point.
Roller wheel - Sandy Speckles
Stamps- Jolly Bingo Bits, Four the Holidays

Christmas Zigzag Card

Here is a sample of one of the Zigzag cards my ladies will be making tomorrow at my card class. Looks very Christmassy! I've used Glorious Green cardstock which has retired from the Stampin'Up! range. However it was the green I had the most of in 12x12 size for the class to use! Real Red is the other cardstock.

The card has been roller wheeled using the Soft Holly wheel. Bit hard to see on the red card methinks I need to reink that cartridge!

The Christmas tree stamp comes from the set Pennant Parade, page 37 of the Australian IB&C. One of those great stamp sets that you can use for umpteen different occasions.

Kindness Matter Card

Here is a quick card I made over the weekend using the new Kindness Matters stamp set. I always love a stamp set that has butterflies in it!
I used the marker to rubber technique to ink up the butterflies in Early Espresso and Old Olive. The edges of the Very Vanilla card I roughed up using my fingernail to give some texture. It was then matted onto Old Olive card and Early Espresso DSP from the Designer Pads. The Early Espresso folded card was decorated using the roller wheel Sandy Speckles and Early Espresso ink. The punched sentiment is done using the Modern Label punch and it is all finished off with a couple of Vintage Trinkets brads.

A good quick classical layout for when you need a card in a hurry!

Twisted Ribbon Flowers Card

I am so pleased with how this card turned out! Making twisted ribbon flowers has been on my to do list for awhile and when I found a really great tutorial on how to make them I was onto it straight away!

Workshop Make and Take

Here are the 3D items we made at my workshop for one of my long term customers last night. The box is made using the Big Shot Box#2 die.

My downline Simone Bartrum gave me a version of the Baja Breeze box at Paperific. I redid one for the workshop in Baja Breeze and the other version is in the new In Colour Wisteria Wonder. I DO like this new colour!

The Baja Breeze box is stamped in Night of Navy ink using the stamp set Hello Friend and the Wisteria Wonder box is stamped using Elegant Eggplant ink and the stamp set Creative Elements.

With a touch of bling and the satin Whisper White ribbon these little boxes were a big hit at the workshop!

Spot the New Products for 2011-2012

There are so many wonderful new items in the 2011-2012 Stampin'Up! Idea Book & Catalogue. I've used four of them to create this quick card. Can you pick them?

1. New In Colour card. This colour is Calypso Coral, doesn't it look good teamed up with Poppy Parade! One of the great aspects of the new IB&C is that the previous years In Colours continue on for another 12 months which means having fun finding lots of new colour combinations!

2.Seam binding ribbon - This one is Pear Pizzazz. It is so soft and easily bunches up for lovely soft ruffles on your projects. There are seven gorgeous new colours in the range and I'm thinking I might just have to get them all!

3. Glimmer Brads - You can never have too many options for bling! These brads come four different colour family ranges so all up that is 20 colours of glimmer brads!

4.Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch. These punches are so clever! You can punch 3 different related shapes from the one punch. I've used two of the punched images here to create my flower. These are great value at $44.95 to get three shapes, imagine how much it would cost to buy all three separately.

Also Stampin'Up! have a great new corner rounder punch. It did get updated last catalogue but I've just updated mine and this works a treat! My old one used to chew the corners at times but this one does a lovely job and no raggy bits!

Other items used in this card are - Whisper White card, Awash with Flowers and You're a Gem stamp sets, Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade inks, paper piercer and matt pack.

Button Buddies

Hi Everyone!

I've finally had a chance to play with this cute fun set we received free from Stampin'Up! when we attended Australian Convention earlier this year. The set is designed to co-ordinate with Stampin'Up! Designer buttons.

There are some really fun images in this set. The little piggie one is so cute when you add his button nose!

The sentiments come from a new set in the 2012 catalogue, Friendly Phrases. the punch is Decorative Label. I love the effect created when you cut one in half and layer it behind a whole one. Just remember to cut off the little side points so as they don't stick out from underneath!

I've had time to stamp lately so will be able to show off some more new creations over the coming days so be sure to drop by again soon!

DSP Zig Zag Card

French Foliage and Woodgrain Card

How is this for a great combination of stamp sets? The French Foliage set and Woodgrain background stamp work beautifully together. This is another of my 6x6 cards done for Paperific. You could easily reduce this down to a 4x4 size.

Colours used are :- Card - Early Espresso, Garden Green, Very Vanilla.
Ink - Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Garden Green, Early Espresso

Zig Zag Card - September Class

As promised here is a photo of the Zig Zag card we will be doing in this months Technique class. This is the card version and I will post up a pic of the Designer Series Paper version once I finish embellishing it.

Paperific Posters

Hi Everyone,
Here are my posters I made for my teams Stampin'Up! stand at Paperific last weekend. If you look closely you will see some of the new sets that will be released tomorrow when the new 2012 Idea Book & Catalogue is officially launched. I love the hostess set Faith in Nature which is the set used to create the 3 pears card in the lower poster. If you know your Stampin'Up! colours, you may even be able to pick out 4 of the new In Colour inks and card in a couple of my cards!

Paperific was very successful and the girls on the stand had a terrific time showing off the new catalogue to everyone who came by the stand. One lady was so excited as she was leaving, she came up to me and said "I've just got to tell someone I am so excited - I just bought a Big Shot!" I know just how she felt!!!! My sample to show you today is another one I created for my display board for Paperific. If you follow my blog you might have noticed a theme over the last few posts. My display is 6x6 cards. I love the challenge of making these size cards and I've been quietly pleased with the ones I have made!

This card uses the retiring Designer Series paper Love Letter. I've combined it with one of the new stamp sets from the 2012 Idea Book - Creative Elements. The swirls have been stamped using Champagne Mist shimmer paint to give the card a bit of glamour.

My Friend Stamp Set Card Using Shimmer Paint

Hi there! Here is another sneak peek from the upcoming Stampin'Up! 2012 Idea Book & Catalogue. The stamp set is "My Friend". I received mine free when I attended Managers Reception with Shelli Gardner CEO of Stampin'Up! at our Australian Stampin'Up! Convention back in May. It's been so hard not being able to share with you the lovely new sets we were given back then - but now I can!

This set reminds me so much of Just Believe and Upsy Daisy from the current catalogue which I love playing with. Good news too these sets are continuing in the 2012 catalogue.

For this card I used a technique which was recently demonstrated on our Demonstrators web page showing how to overstamp your stamped image with shimmer paint. So the initial image was stamped in Soft Suede and then stamped the image on my Stampamajig sheet. Then on my clean stamp I randomly daubed shimmer paint - Precious Platinum for this one, and using the Stampamajig I overstamped the initial image. Looks great doesn't it?

Cardsock used is Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso. Ribbon is Crumbcake taffeta a new colour coming in the new catalogue. I've actually dug out my retired Kraft taffeta which is now rebadged as Crumbcake! Certainly pays to hang onto retired products!!!!!

CASE from 2012 Stampin'Up! Idea Book & Catalogue

I've been having a wonderful time lately creating cards for my poster display for my teams upcoming stand at Paperific Expo this month. Here is one of my creations. I CASED it from the new 2012 Stampin'Up! Idea Book & Catalogue. I love how much inspiration you can get from this terrific catalogue!

My CASE card was inspired from page 107. In the catalogue it is a stamped image in a photo frame. I've added my own stamping ideas to it but the basic idea is the word stamps using the set Fabulous Phrases set on that page of the catalogue.

I like the clean and simpleness of it all. Colours used are Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz and Melon Mambo. My trusty Stampamajig made positioning the word stamps so easy! You have to have one of these in your stash, it really is a must have! The flowers were done using the Boho Blossoms punch.

Another Explosion Box Card

I promised another sample before my upcoming class and here it is. This explosion box is slightly larger than the earlier sample and we will be making both sizes in the class. As a goodbye to the retiring Designer Series Papers I have used the Sunny Garden DSP for the lid of the box. One of the things I love about Stampin'Up! is how the products co-ordinate so well with each other. So we have the lovely Sunny Garden DSP combining with the Cottage Garden stamp set. So pretty!

Summer Solstice Card

Two blogs in a day! Well I had to get on here and show you this card I just made as I LOVE it!

It's made using a gorgeous new set from the upcoming 2012 Stampin'Up! Idea Book & Catalogue, called Summer Solstice. It also has a leaf image and two sentiment stamps in the set.

The flower image has been stamped on Whisper White card using black Staz-On ink. It has come up so crisp and clean, I love the effect! The butterflies were done using rockn'roll technique, inked first with Tangerine Tango and then rockn'rolled in Poppy Parade ink. The piece has been matted onto Basic Black card and then onto Poppy Parade cardstock for a 6x6 card. All very quick and easy to do - my favourite kind of card!

Hey I Scrapbooked!

Now as you may or may not know I am not a true scrapbooker, it's really a time thing if I had more I probably would scrapbook! Any way my downline and I are having our regular stand/display at the upcoming August Paperific Paper Expo and we want to focus more on having scrapbooking displays. So the challenge was put out to everyone to create a couple of pages and move out of the comfort zone of card making. So here is my effort!

I'm actually quite pleased with it! I've used the colour tones from the girls clothing and matched them with Rose Red and Baja Breeze. The paper is from the retiring Elegant Soiree set of papers. The backing card is Soft Suede.
I've utilised my Big Shot to create the title and to make the butterflies using the Beautiful Wings embosslit. You can't see the detail but the pale blue top has little butterflies printed on it so I picked that up to use as my decoration for the page. Doesn't the Decorative Label punch look good when split and used as a backing behind a whole punched label?

Another Sneak Peek!

Here is a lovely card I received for my recent birthday from one of my terrific downline - Jane Trent. I love it so of course had to share it with all of you! Jane has used the fun set of stamps we received at our Australian Stampin'Up! Convention - Button Buddies. One of the great new 2012 stamp sets!
The flower image looks so good having been done with the rockn'roll technique and then layered. This set is so good and has some wonderful images and are all designed to work with the wonderful range of Stampin'Up! buttons.
I have my stash of new 2012 Catalogues so if you would like your copy give me a call to arrange a time to come by and collect your copy. They cost $10.
Getting back to the lovely card - Jane has used Marina Mist and Crumbcake cardstock and inks. You will be pleased to know too that the lace trim has continued on in the new catalogue and works perfectly layered over the crumbcake seam binding.

One More Diamond Fold Card!

Well it's been a busy week in the world of Stampin'Up! On August 1st the Retired List from the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue was released plus we could start ordering our sneak peek products from the new 2011-2012 IB&C as well as our boxes of new catalogues! I'm hoping my first load of goodies is going to land on my doorstep tomorrow! I can't see too much happening in my house once that box is opened and I start examining the new catalogue.

To remind you of some of the items that will be retiring I've posted photos of one of the diamond fold cards I made for my recent class. All the Designer Series Papers in the current catalogue will be retiring to make way for some gorgeous new papers.

The Designer Series paper used for this card is from the Lap of Luxury pack of papers. This set of papers co-ordinates with Concord Crush, Basic Grey, Pretty in Pink and Very Vanilla cardstock.

Do you like my fan fold flower? I thought it made a lovely decoration for my diamond fold card. When it comes to decorating one of these cards you can let your imagination run wild! Once you have the basic structure folded you can add all sorts of embellishments, panels or stamped images to your card.

It is always sad to see some old favourite sets retiring but on the upside is the prospect of using some lovely new sets and having them become firm favourites!

Diamond Fold Card Using Stampin'Up! Motorcycle Stamp

Hi Everyone!
I've just come home from a wonderful weekend away at a Scrapbooking Retreat. Two whole days of cardmaking, creating and scrapbooking with full catering!!!!! Very, very nice and loads of fun!

I had to create some more samples for my upcoming Diamond Fold class that I am running this week and I thought I would show this one off to you all.
I have used the single Motorcycle stamp that is in the current Autumn/Winter mini catalogue. ( Reminder this catalogue finishes up at the end of July so only a few more days available to order this stamp. ) I still have to add a Happy Birthday sentiment to the side panels but wanted to get this posted on here now! The bike was stamped in Staz-On black ink and the red highlights added using a blender pen and Real Red marker. Crystal Effects was then added over the red sections to make them lovely and glossy. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out!!!
If you would like to come to my class it is running this Thursday July 28 at 7.30pm and Saturday July 30 at 1.30pm. Cost is $15. Class is held in Mt. Waverley.
Better go now, I have a lot of unpacking to do - amazing how much stuff you need to take away with you for a scrapbooking weekend!!!

Sneak Peek!!!!!

Thought I would start giving you some teasing peeks at what is coming up in our new 201-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue. At the Australian Stampin'Up! Convention in May we were given new stamp sets from the upcoming catalgue and created make and take projects there and then with them! This is one of the 3 I made in our session.
This gorgeous flower stamp comes from the lovely new set titled Creative Elements. Check out the ribbon - it is seam binding in Crumbcake, love it, love it, love it!!!!!!
Card used is Early Espresso, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla.
The spatter pattern was done using the Spritzer Tool. the flower has also had shimmer mist sprayed across it but you can't see that in this picture.

Display stands by Rachael Guy

How are these for gorgeous display stands!!!!!???? I first saw these at the last Paperific Show and then again when one of my friends ( Hi Naomi!) suggested I use her stands for displaying my cards at her workshop recently.

My customers thought it was a terrific display so I contacted Rachael and ordered a couple and here is one of them showing off my cards at my class yesterday. They are designed to frame a 12 x 12 scrapbook page so as you can show off your lovely pages and not have them hidden away unseen in albums. What a clever idea!!!

My other frame has been filled with loose photos for the moment as I was keen to see how that would look and it takes 6 photos in landscape and looks great. The frames are magnetic so either place a couple of stick on flexible magnets ( Rachel includes these) or create your own. I'm going to stick my Stampin'Up! vintage brads onto round magnets to make a decorative magnet to hold my cards and scrapbook pages in place.

I have the gold version of the circles design but she has another design too and they both come in gold or silver.

Thanks to Chris Mclucas for the butterfly embossed card which I CASED and the French Foliage card is CASED from a sample I saw at our recent Stampin'Up! Convention - thankyou to the demonstrator who created it!

My Version of Managers Reception Invite

Here is a card I've been meaning to put up here for some time now. I loved the invitation we received from Stampin'Up! to attend Managers Reception with Shelli Gardner our CEO at our recent Australian Stampin'Up! Convention. The one I received was in Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight.

I played around with the colours and came up with this version! I've used Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. The stamp set is Eastern Blooms. Nice to use a stamp set that has not seen the light of day for some time!

Forest Friends

If you are looking for a quick and cute card how about this one made with the cute and cuddly Forest Friends set. I'm pretty sure I saw this set on the retiring list in the US so there is a chance it may well be disappearing from our new Idea Book when it comes out in September.

This is 4x4 inch card that was so quick to put together. Stamped up the images, punched them out using the smaller square punch, ran the matching colour inkpad around the edge of each square before mounting on the larger punched out squares of card. then adhered them all to my Choc Chip folded card. The words come from the fabulous new birthday greetings set in the Autumn mini - Bring on the Cake. Great set to get as it has so many good birthday greetings in it - 13 in fact!
Finished it all off with a bit of bling on the toadstool and flower. The bling is the funny looking shadow!!!! Just realised the flower comes from the Funky Four stamp set! Another really cute set!

Gift Bag Class

Here are the gift bags I will be teaching you how to make in my next class sessions. The bag on the left is the one I made for my down line members who attended Convention. The other gift bag is called a bag-in-a-box. It is great to fill with chocolates and give as a special gift to someone as a thankyou.

Class is $20 and will be held on Saturday June 25 at 1.30pm and Thursday June 30 at 7.30pm. Classes are held in my home in Mt. Waverley. Class size is limited to 8.

Inspired by Nature emboss resist

Just a quick post today, I'm off to do a class on creating invitations which should be fun and interesting!

I made this card last weekend because I sorted through my sample box and discovered a majority of my samples were from before the Colour Renovation and so by rights needed to be updated. So the process has begun!

My original of this card is on this blog done in Taken with Teal in A5 format. This time it is a 6x6 card and the colour is Perfect Plum. Emboss resist is such a WOW technique to show at workshops. Basically you create a background on your card piece. Wipe over with your embossing buddy then stamp your image in Versamark ink and cover with clear embossing powder. Heat set with your Heat Tool, then brayer over the whole piece die ink. Here I've used the same colours but you can use contrasts if you like. Then wipe over the whole piece with a tissue to take off excess ink from the embossed image and your piece is ready to be made into a card.

Inlaid Embossing / Faux Fabric Cards

I've finished night duty for the week so thought I would get the photos up showing the Inlaid Embossing card samples form my recent class teaching this technique.
The first two samples have been stamped on Whisper White and Very Vanilla card. The Bella Toile one below was coloured with marker pens before being run through the Big Shot machine using the Square Lattice embossing folder. I got the idea for the card below from Tracy Wilson, a demonstrator who posted a sample of her card on our demonstrators gallery page.

These last two cards were done using punched out shapes. The one above uses various circle punches which were randomly adhered over my Baja Breeze card piece before running through the Big Shot with the Square lattice folder. The one below used stamped images from the Button, button set that were punched out and glued to Whisper White card.

Faux Mother -of-Pearl Technique

Hi! Thanks for stopping by for a look. Today I've added some of the sample cards from my recent technique class where my lovely ladies learned how to create the Faux Mother-of-Pearl technique.

This is such a pretty way to add some shimmer to your cards and you could make up a whole heap of these at a time and have them ready on hand when you need a card quickly. The secret is using Shimmer Paint which we have available from Stampin'Up! at $11.50 a bottle. The colour used for this technique is Frost White. Very simply, you pour a few drops of shimmer paint onto a plate/lid/pallete and using a piece of cling wrap scrunched into a loose ball you dab the cling wrap into the paint, dab off the excess and lightly dab it randomly over your piece of glossy white or whisper white card stock. Leave it to dry or dry off with your heat tool and once dry, brayer over the top of the card stock with a light coloured ink. Your background piece is now ready to be stamped on using Black Staz-On ink.

In my samples above starting at the top I have used River Rock ink and stamped over with French Foliage ( has to be my favourite stamp set at the moment!), Bridal Blush stamped over with the Level 2 hostess set Fast & Fabulous, and the final one uses Baja Breeze and stamp is Sail Away. The idea for the torn frame came from our recent Convention and was a Workshop Wow by talented Kiwi Sharnee Torrents.

Lovely Surprise!

Look at this gorgeous card I received from my terrific downline Simone Bartrum the other day. I was having a very unwell day so it was a wonderful surprise and made me feel heaps better! Thankyou Simone for your thoughts and super card!

Here is the card I am sending to Simone with my thanks and further congrats on her awesome achievements with Stampin'Up! at our recent Awards Night and Convention.

It's a CASE of a card I saw on Mary Fish 's webpage when I was having a surf around recently and had earmarked as one I just had to try making. I've made a couple of subtle changes to make it fit our Australian A4 size card fronts. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out and have made several more since!

The stamp set is Clearly For You from the current Mini catalogue and it has been stamped up in Pear Pizzazz and mounted on matching cardstock.

The flower was made using the Birds and Blooms die. An antique brad makes the centre and I spritzed it with Champagne Gold Shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol. Victoria lace is the trim which you can still purchase, it has carried over from the previous mini catalogue which is fantastic!

Quick and Easy Card

Here is a quick card I rustled up when I had a few free moments to "play". I like the simplicity of the black and white colour scheme.
The stamped image is from the stamp set Just Believe. I stamped it up in Black Staz-On. If I had more time I could have done it in Versamark and embossed it in black for more of a wow effect.

The embossed border is from the current Autumn mini catalogue and is the Framed Tulips Embossing folder.

So there it is - one very quick and easy card!

I'm In Print!!!!!

I'm so excited! My very first project that I have ever submitted was selected to be published by Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine! Plus one of my cards made it onto the front cover! That's it on the upper right, the flowerpot card. You can find all the instructions for this card and another flowerpot card on page 82 of the magazine, Vol 17 No 4.
What a great way to top off an amazing week!

Australian Stampin'Up! Convention May 2011

Here are just a few more random shots from Convention. I've only now gone through all my photos properly! That's the problem of coming home from Convention and going straight back onto 3 nights night duty and dealing with a messy house, I have to admit that housework took a back seat as I prepared all my team swaps and general swaps for Convention!

Here is photo of some of the gift bags I gave my team attending Convention. I made 20 of them and filled them with survival needs for Convention plus a little appreciation gift from me.

Below is my Prize Patrol gift! When you win one of these random prize draws you get to jump up from your seat and do the crazy dance!!!! Something I finally got to do at this Convention! My pack included the clear stamp set - Clearly For You and the a la carte stamp - Hello Blossoms.

Now if you are a devotee of all things Stampin'up! you may know that this year Stampin'Up! is celebrating 5 years in Australia. This photo shows the giant birthday cake card we all got to sign to celebrate this terrific milestone for Stampin'Up!

One of the fun aspects of Convention or Regionals is swapping your handmade cards or 3D items with other demonstrators. Here is the display walls where everyone who placed a swap in the Stampin'Up! basket had their cards displayed. It was fabulous to see everyone's creativity! So many ideas - so little time, I've got all that housework to do!!!!!

Finally here is pic from our Awards dinner. I had to have a photo of the scrummy desert with its celebratory chocolate 5 celebrating 5 years in Australia. For the record it was delicious and it was white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake! Very, very yummy!

Australian Stampin'Up! Convention May 2011

Hi Everyone!
I thought I'd show you one of my favourite projects that Shelli created at Convention. I love this box using the Box 2 die. What makes it is the gorgeous stamped image using the Hello Blossoms stamp from the Autumn mini catalogue. It just happens to be one of the stamps I won in my prize patrol gift pack!!!!!
What makes it pop is the glitter brads in the flower centres and no I'm not letting anything out of the bag here! They are made using the jumbo brads from the current IB&C. Shelli demo'd how to roll the top of the brad in a Versamark pad, dip it into Heatn'Stick powder, heat with glue gun by holding the brad with a pair of tweezers (all comments about forests deleted here for those of you who were there you know what I am talking about!!!!!), then dip the top of the brad into fine glitter. Easy peasy!!!!
Sorry the pic is a bit blurry - very hard to focus when trying to get photos surrounded by lots of eager Stampin'Up! demonstrators!!!!

Australian Stampin'Up! Convention May 2011

I'm so sad to say that Convention is over.....but what an amazing three days we had last Thursday, Friday and Saturday!

There is sooooo much to tell and sooooo much I can't tell you, we are sworn to secrecy about keeping all the fabulous sneak peeks we saw from the upcoming Idea Book & Catalogue due out here in September to ourselves.
I had a wonderful time with my amazing team of demonstrators from the Inksationals and I am very proud of all their achievements with Stampin'Up! Many of the team made the stage walk and received awards at the closing evening session of Convention when The Demonstrator of the Year is announced and many have achieved personal goals with Stampin'Up! during the year - well done Girls!

I was such a proud mother hen of my team as when the Demonstrator of the Year Awards were announced we had FOUR girls from the Inksationals in the Top 25 in Australia! Plus Simone was placed as Number One in Australia for Leadership - Big, big congrats Simone!

I love this photo taken after the awards. It shows Maureen Crameri - No 10, myself - No 24 ( that was a wonderful surprise!), Our Stampin'Up! founder and CEO Shelli Gardner, Tracy Penn - No 6, and Simone Bartrum No 7.

Convention was a fabulous time for catching up with friends, making new friends, meeting the team behind Stampin'Up! and most of all learning loads of wonderful new stamping and crafting ideas! This has to have been the best Convention ever!

My Convention Swap for my Team

It's starting to get exciting here as the Australian Stampin'Up! Convention starts tomorrow here in Melbourne!!!! Three days of stamping, creating and being inspired by Shelli our Stampin'Up! CEO from the US.! We have a Managers Reception with her tomorrow night, talks each day and it all finishes off with the Awards Dinner on Saturday night.

I am particularly looking forward to the dinner as 3 of my downline are going to receive the Incentive Trip to Fiji plus I am sure they are going to do very well in the Demonstrator of the Year Awards - Go Simone, Maureen and Tracy, I am so proud of you, your achievements and to have you as my downline!

Here is the swap I have made for my downline. It will be going in the cute gift bags I have ready for all of my team attending Convention. I'll post a photo of those later. I've used the Faux Material / Inlaid Embossing technique to emboss the die cut Beautiful Wings butterflies to the background card. The lace edging was done using the scallop trim border and corner punches. One of the very talented US demos has tutorial on how to create perfect sized matts using this corner and edging punch. The cardstock colours used for this card are Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Old Olive and Basic Black.

Here is a card I CASED from Mary Fish This is a card designed by Stampin'Up! that the demonstrators made at a Stampin'Up! Founder's Circle meeting. It shows off both the new Create a Cupcake stamp set and the matching Build a Cupcake punch beautifully!

C is for Cat and D is for Dog Cards

The stamp sets C is for Cat and D is for Dog are so cute! Here I've used them with the faux dry embossing technique. You can see an earlier set of examples and get an explanation on how to do this technique here.

These stamped images look so clean and simple just matting them and mounting them onto Confetti White or Confetti Vanilla cardstock. Love how the diamente looks on the cat's collar!!!

Inlaid Embossing Cards

Don't you love it when you finally get around to trying out a new technique! You've seen it online and you keep thinking I really must try that out. Well I'd been thinking just that about this technique - you might also see it called Faux Designer Series Paper or as Faux Material. However I left it so long that I was worried that I'd not be able to show off my creations because the technique uses the Square Lattice Embossing folder from the Summer Mini, but yay, Stampin'Up! has kept this folder on as one of several items from the Summer Mini that you can continue to order!

This technique has the potential to create so many new ideas that I wish I had more hours in the day to play with it. For the technique you need an embossing folder with a close pattern - hence why the Square Lattice design is so perfect! On your base card either stamp an image and colour in or as I have done in my samples here, adhere punched or die cut shapes. Once it is all dry place your card piece inside the embossing folder and run it through your Big Shot and hey presto look at what you have created!

My card above uses the Big Shot Sizzlits Birds & Blooms dies and the one below uses Sizzlits Little Leaves along with Embosslits die Beautiful Wings. Please excuse the obviously crooked ribbon placement on that card. A late night card making session obviously had me not seeing straight!!!! I didn't notice it until I loaded the photo on here!

Go on and give this great technique a try - you will be very pleased with the results!

I've done more but those ones will remain a secret for now as they are my swaps for our upcoming Stampin'Up! Convention right here in Melbourne next month!!!!!!!

Motorcycle Card from Autumn-Winter Mini

I CASED the idea for this card from one of my downline - Lorinda de Regt-Penn. She had a card very similar to this on her display poster at Paperific and I just had to recreate it for myself!

Cardstock is Basic Grey, Whisper White and Basic Black Textured
Ink is Staz-On Black
Stamps are Motorcycle 123571 and Perfect Punches 121560
Accessories used Basic Black Striped Grosgrain, Cutter Tool for distressing around stamped image and Extra Large Oval punch.
I know what I meant to do and that was add Crystal Effects to the tyres! Will have to remember to do that next time!

Strength & Hope Card

Quick and Easy Card

You know how much I love making quick and easy cards. Well here is the sample of one I used on my recent poster display for our stand at Paperific.

I've used the stamp set Growing Green and randomly stamped the images in Staz-On black ink onto Whisper White card. I roughed up the edges of the white card with the distressing tool in the cutter kit.This was then mounted onto a strip of metallic silver card after basic black one eighth inch taffeta had been caught behind the white card. A bow in the same ribbon was attached separately. The card was then adhered to a folded basic black card and the sentiment stamped in white craft ink from the hostess set Silhouette Sentiments.

Very quick, easy and elegant I think!

Patchwork/Quilt Card

Quick and Easy Card

I'm into a bit of a monochromatic mode at present. It fits in with my quick and easy theme for my craft show posters. This card is actually on my poster that is up at Picture to Page which is on today and tomorrow at East Burwood Reserve. I'll be working there tomorrow so come along and say hello!!!!!

Ink, card, ribbon and button colour is Early Espresso.
Stamps are Pocket Silhouettes and Inspired by Nature.

Swing Card

Baby Card Using Every Little Bit Set

I'm busy making cards to decorate our Stampin'Up! stand for two upcoming stamping, scrapbooking and papercraft shows that I am attending with members of my team and other Stampin'up! demonstrators. I will be at Picture to Page in East Burwood next Sunday March 20 and Paperific is coming up on April 1 - 3 at the Melbourne Showgrounds. So thought I would show you an example of what I have been making.
I like to make cards that are quick and easy to create when I do these displays so as customers can look at them and think I can do that!

This baby card was created using Every Little Bit stamp set and the words come from the set Curly Cute. Apart from cutting out all the little ducks it was an easy card to put together! I love using our new wide striped grosgrain ribbon this way to embellish cards. It is also a terrific way to add a button and create another interest point on your card.

The matt is actually double sided paper from the Neutrals pad pack of co-ordinating DSP. I've used the white paper with a cream polka dot design on it but it is a bit hard to pick up in the photo.

I seem to know quite a few expectant parents at the moment so I am sure this card will find a home very soon!

Just One More Free Standing Popup Card

Okay I wasn't going to load up this card for you to see but it's been sitting on my desk and the more I look at it the more I love it! So of course I wanted to share! I actually got the idea for this from a card I saw on Splitcoast stampers by a stamper named Vera. She had masked her butterflies but for my class we did them using the rock and roll technique and fancy cut them and mounted them on dimensionals.

I love this card and the way the middle flips when you open the card out to reveal the underside image and your message. You know I will have more samples to show you as the month gets on so check back regularly!

Teenager Male Card

My youngest turned 18 recently and here is the card I made for him. I CASED the idea from a card done by another Stampin'Up! demonstrator Belinda Ezzy which was shown on our Stampin'Up! demonstrators Stampin'Connection page. As soon as I saw this card last year I marked as a potential caqrd for Pat's 18th. It is always a challenge to get good guys cards and I wanted something extra special for his 18th.
The light doesn't catch the embossing but the wave effect has been embossed in clear embossing powder.

The graduation in colour is achieved by tearing a post-it note in a rough circle and masking it over the surfer after applying the initial Tempting Turquoise sponging. You do the masking twice with a bigger mask the second time. The wave effect is done by sponging lightly with Craft white ink and applying clear embossing powder. Then a final layer of Craft White is sponged on the right side and embossed again to create the water effect.

Stamp set is Seaworthy.
Card used Whisper White which was sponged to give the colour graduation, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point and Shimmery White for the numbers.
Ink used Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Versamark, Craft White.
Versamark pen, Big Shot and Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies, Clear and black embossing powder, heat gun, sponges, markers were other accessories used.

More Free Standing Pop Up Cards!!!!!!

I'm working for a few nights now so thought I'd pop on another update as I don't know when I will be back on here again. I spent some time this afternoon making more samples for my class this week. I always like to have quite a few ideas available for my class ladies!

I ordered the stamp set Happiness Shared to use for next months class but then thought it would be great for one of these free standing popup cards. I'm really pleased with how it turned out especially using the lace trim and vintage safety pin from the Summer Mini catalogue. It all came together quite nicely giving the card that olde worlde feel!

Cardstock is Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz and Pink Pirouette.
Ink is Jet black Staz-On, Pear Pizzazz, Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight and Sahara Sand.
The rose was coloured using an aqua painter pen and inks. I used the Sahara Sand ink to make the image "pop" by going around the stamped image very lightly with ink and the aqua painter.

Here is my other creation for today. As usual I buy sets and have them sitting on my shelf waiting, waiting, waiting to be used until inspiration hits. Well it finally did and I created a popup card suitable for the boys!

The stamp set is Lots of Bots and I stamped it in Jet Black Staz-On ink. I coloured the robot using ink from my Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler and More Mustard ink pads and an aqua painter.

Card is Whisper White and Brushed Silver (perfect for this project!)
Embellishments are the smaller sized jumbo brads and mini library clips, these are so mini!!!!!!
Punch is Round Tab extra large.

Free Standing Popup Card

The stamp set used is Easter Blossoms from the Summer Mini catalogue. To create the pattern on the girls dress I used a technique known as 'Kissing". Once I had inked up the stamp in Early Espresso ink I pressed the stamp onto a background stamp - Bella Toile to lift off the ink and then stamped the little girl stamp on my card. The Bella Toile stamp was also used to stamp the Certainly Celery background on the base card.

I love the new sentiment set I just bought - Curly Cute. For this card it has been inked up in Pretty in Pink. I really love this font!

Another item from the mini catalogue I used here was the Vintage trinkets but unfortunately you can't see the brad I used very well to make the ribbon pull. These brads look like little metal buttons and are soooo cute!

Sale-a-bration Wallets

Here are some cute little gift card / secret message wallets I've made using Sale-a-bration stamp sets. These are the sets you can receive for free during Feb/March just for making a $100 Stampin'Up! order. The top photo shows the wallet closed with the belly band around it and the photo below shows the wallet open.

You could decorate these wallets in so many different ways. For mine I have used the Big Shot and embossing folders to emboss the lower third of the wallet and then stamped images on the front and back of the other two thirds using the Sale-a-bration sets Bliss and Sweet Summer.

The inside envelope is cut out using the Big Shot and Scallop Envelope die. The belly band has been decrated using Designer Series Paper Island Oasis from the current Summer Mini catalogue. The stamped and punched images on the band are from the Sale-a-bration set Punch Bunch. The Sale-a-bration set So Happy for You has been stamped on the scallop envelope and message card.

The Big Shot embossing folders used are - Vintage Wallpaper, Petals-A-Plenty and Elegant Lines.

The size of the card used is 29.8 x 10.5cm, in other words an A$ sheet cut in half lengthways, scored at 9.5cm and 21cm.
Card stock is Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron Old Olive and Rose Red which all co-ordinate with the Island Oasis papers.

Thanks to my downline Maureen Crameri for giving me the inspiration for these. She made a lovely Christmas version as her Christmas card last year.

I hope you have fun coming up with your own versions. These also make a cute little money gift card. Just pop your money and message into the envelope for a lovely surprise for a special someone!

Brayered Manhattan Flower

Hi Everyone! Here is a project I did with some of my terrific stamping buddies this week at a workshop. Don't these cards look fabulous! I saw this technique on Patty Bennett's blog quite some time ago and have been meaning to try it out. Coming up with new ideas for my very experienced stamping friends can be a challenge - but this was a big hit!

The white cardstock used is Stampin'Up! Shimmery White - it gives a lovely sheen to these cards. You can see it in the current IB&C on page 122. The embossing folder used is Manhattan Flower.

I have used Rose Red and So Saffron ink for the first card and Regal Rose and So Saffron ink for the second card. I was trying to create the rose colours for Double Delight for the first card and Chicago Peace for the second one.
The card is 6x6 Chocolate Chip and the ribbon is Whisper White Organza.

I hope you have fun trying this technique some time. I plan to give it a go again very soon - I should never have waited so long to give it a go!

A Valentine's Quickie!

Hi Everyone!

Here's another really quick card to make - just in case you have been way laid and not realised Valentine's Day is just a week away!

I've used the stamp set Love Defined from the Summer Mini Catalogue. This set has 8 images in it and I love this tree from the set. You could do so many things with it. For this image I have used a Cherry Cobbler marker pen and coloured the image direct to rubber, then I have gone over the trunk and three of the hearts with a Basic Black marker, done a "huff" on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamped up the image onto Whisper white card. This was mounted onto Basic Black card and then mounted on Cherry Cobbler card on which I had stamped the heart strings and sentiment from Love Defined.

Like I said very quick and easy. You could jazz it some more with ribbon or a spritz of Shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol, some sponging around the edges or some cosmo glitter on the hearts. Lots of ways to take it up a notch! But sometimes it is nice to just have a card that is "clean & simple".

Baby Card Using Baby Bundle Set

One of the girls at my work recently had a gorgeous baby boy and here is the card I made to welcome him into the world.

I have stamped the images from Baby Bundle in Black Staz-On ink and coloured them in using Stampin'Write markers and a blender pen. This was then mounted on a left over piece of card I'd sponged with platinum shimmer paint and all mounted on Marina Mist card with an added Marina Mist ribbon embellishment.
