Eureka Stampers New Stampin'Up! 2015 Catalogue Blog Hop

My terrific downline Simone Bartrum and her team Eureka Stampers are holding a New Catalogue Blog Hop and if you have reached me you have been sent to my blog from the very creative Tricia Raineri aka The Speckled Sparrow. I've taken inspiration for my creations from an item I had already partially completed and from the colour combination of red and black. Plus my first order from the new annual catalogue contained the gorgeous new Designer Series Paper "Timeless Elegance" and my next favourite stamp set after Awesomely Artistic, "Birthday Blossoms", so I just had to highlight them in one of my creations.

So here is my first card - a Step Panel card. Another of my talented downline, Rosie Spezzano taught this style of card at our recent Team Night and I was very keen to try making another, so thanks for the inspiration Rosie!

This is great style of card to make so it will definitely be put into my class timetable for this year! The paper is one of the beautiful designs in the Timeless Elegance pack of papers, love them! Also love the font used for all the sentiments in the Birthday Blossoms stamp set.

I know I always get carried away with my loves when a new catalogue is released but I have to say as soon as I saw the Metallic Thread on the Ribbon and Trim page in the catalogue - it was a MUST HAVE! I've used the gold thread behind the flower for a bit of added interest as you can see in closer detail below.

I added a Very Vanila panel to the back of the card to enable a greeting to be stamped and for me to write my birthday wishes for the lucky recipient of this card.

Now for my second creation. At the recent Picture to Page Show I was demonstrating my current favourite technique, dry embossed vellum and was using the pretty flower image from the new stamp set "You've Got This" So with several of these images now dry embossed it seemed only sensible to use one in a card for the blog hop and tie it in with one of my class techniques for this month - Double Embossing.

I wanted to keep the colour combinations simple so I did not add any colour behind the vellum once it was embossed. I like the elegance of the card with the shiny embossed areas and added a bit of bling from the new Metallic Sequin Assortment to continue the gloss look.

The embossing folder is Modern Mosaic which carried over into this catalogue which is great as I did not use it anywhere near enough last year. Do you like my fussy cutting? I think I did a pretty good job of it!

The sentiment used came from the Sassy Salutations set, another carry over set that is always popular with my customers.
