Why Reinvent the Wheel?

When time is at a premium it is always good to have a few quick ideas up your sleeve. One I like to use is if I have a card sketch I like then I reuse it using different stamp sets and card colours. It is a great way to challenge yourself to think of new ways to get more out of your stamp sets. As the title says - why reinvent the wheel?

I CASE'd the card below in July to use for a workshop from Do Stamping With Dawn. I love this card for it's simplicity! Also love the stamp set - Wild About Flowers.

My dilemma, I needed a card for my team members to make at my Team Night this week, some of them have already made this card, so I like the card sketch, it's a quick and easy card to create, so I came up with a couple of other options to create Christmas cards using stamp sets form the 2015 Holiday catalogue.

This card uses Flurry of Wishes stamp set and it has a matching Snow Flurry punch. If you buy these as a bundle you save 15% off the price of buying them individually. I'm quite chuffed with this card, it might even be my Christmas card for this year.

My second card was created using Your Presents stamp set and a technique known as "kissing". This stamp set was designed with this technique in mind. Kissing can be done in two ways. I have done reverse kissing if there is such a term! I inked my solid stamp then placed the pattern stamp onto the solid stamp to remove ink and then stamped the resulting image onto my card stock.

The other way is to ink up the patterned stamp, then stamp it on the solid stamp to transfer the inked pattern, then stamp the solid stamp on your card stock. Both ways look really effective.

I know I go on about all the great products Stampin'Up! make but the gold and silver cord in the Holiday catalogue is so fabulous! When I first joined Stampin'Up! eight plus years ago there was similar cord in the catalogue then and when it retired a couple of years later I was very disappointed. Whenever Stampin'Up! would have discussions about what products we wish we could have again, I always pleaded for the metallic cord to return and look, my pleading paid off!

I'm looking forward to a fun team night and I know everyone is going to really enjoy creating this card sketch and then sharing it with their team members and customers.

Cheers!

Janine
