The Open Sea

Here is a card I made some time ago using another set, The Open Sea, from the Summer Mini that is about to finish up. I was inspired to make this card by my sister Stampin'Up! demonstrator Julia Quinn and I used it for a few workshops last month.

The technique is a variation of faux mother of pearl. Onto glossy Stampin'Up! card you stamp your image, punch out the shape and then with a scrunched up piece of cling wrap that has been lightly dabbed into a puddle of shimmer paint (frost white), lightly dab randomly over your stamped images.

The edges of the punched squares were sponged to add a vintage feel to the card.

Stamp sets - The Open Sea, Natures Nest, Happiest Birthday Ever
Inks - Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede
Card - Soft Suede, Glossy White, Very Vanilla
Embossing folder - Framed Tulips
Mini silver brads, square punch 1.25 inch, Big Shot

Below is a version I did  using Natures Nest and Nature Walk.

See you again soon!
