Heartfelt Card Presentation (4)

Okay let's move onto my next series of cards that I presented at the Heartfelt Stampin'Up! Event. The technique is bleached painting and the style of card is a diamond fold card.

Bleached painting is a great technique for Christmas cards, especially for snowmen as you will see from one of my samples. Experiment with different card colours as you will get very different results from each colour of card as the bleach reacts with the paper dye.  Here's how you do it.

1. Ink your image with Versamark ink and stamp onto coloured card.  Sprinkle over clear embossing powder and heat set.

2. Fill a small dish or cup with fresh bleach. Did you know bleach actually goes off? With a fine paint brush or you can fill an aqua painter with bleach, paint the areas of your stamped image you want "coloured" with bleach. I prefer a fine brush as I feel I have better control of the bleach and where it goes on the image. Give it a few moments and then you will start to see the colour fading out of the area you painted.

See how well this works with a snowman image. The stamp set is Snow much Fun from the new 2013 catalogue. The card used below is Baja Breeze and for the Merry & Type card above the card used is Marina Mist.

It is a lot of fun doing this technique and seeing how different colours react. Look at how Perfect Plum turns out in the card below.

I loved how the chrysanthemum image turned out when bleach painted. The image is from the set Blooming with Kindness which is another of the new stamp sets in the upcoming 2013 catalogue. All the demonstrators who were Manager and above when we were at Convention earlier this year received this set as a gift when we attended the Managers Reception at Parliament House. You have to love the perks that come with being a demonstrator with Stampin'Up!!!!!! In case you were wondering the Whisper White matt under the bleached image was edged using the Scallop Trim border punch and matching Scallop Trim corner punch.
